This past Sunday, Pastor Jeremy Eastman continued to lead us deeper into the heart of Easter by unpacking the journey of Jesus toward redemption. It was a powerful reminder that we are not only commissioned to share the Gospel—but also called to remain deeply rooted in the presence of God.
🛤 The Journey of Jesus
Drawing from Luke chapters 9 and 10, Pastor Jeremy highlighted how Jesus “set His face toward Jerusalem,” fully committed to His mission despite the distractions and obstacles ahead. In doing so, He showed us what unwavering purpose looks like. Jesus didn’t just walk toward the cross—He ministered along the way, healing and teaching, always making time for people. His journey challenges us to stay focused, present, and purposeful in our own walk.
🌾 A Life Commissioned
Sent in Pairs
In Luke 10:1–16, Jesus sends out 72 disciples in pairs—on purpose and with purpose. Pastor Jeremy reminded us that we are not called to walk alone. Ministry is meant to be done in community, with accountability, encouragement, and support.
The Harvest Is Plentiful
The message Jesus gave them was urgent: “The kingdom of God has come near.” Our role today remains the same—to pray for laborers and to go where God sends us. Every person we meet is a soul that matters to God. Our communities are full of opportunities to bring peace, hope, and truth.
💗 Heart Posture: Service Anchored in Worship
Pastor Jeremy shared a beautiful metaphor: our spiritual lives are like a pond. Without both an inlet (God pouring into us) and an outlet (us pouring into others), the water grows stagnant. We need fresh revelation from God, and we must allow His life to flow through us.
Mary & Martha (Luke 10:38–42)In this well-known passage, Mary sits at Jesus’ feet while Martha is busy serving. Jesus gently reminds Martha that Mary has chosen what is better. The message is clear: before we serve, we must be filled. Our service should flow from a heart of worship, not just activity.
🔄 The Rhythm of Redemption
Our walk with God must be balanced—going out to serve and returning to sit in His presence. Pastor Jeremy encouraged us to establish this rhythm in our lives: work and worship, movement and stillness, doing and being.
Pray for your neighbors. Bless your city. Serve where God leads—but always come back to the quiet place, to the feet of Jesus.
✝️ Final Thoughts
Redemption is both a mission and a moment. It’s the call to proclaim the Gospel and the invitation to rest in God's love. As we journey together through this season, let us be both carriers of His message and keepers of His presence.
Let’s walk the road to redemption with hearts on fire and eyes fixed on Jesus.
